I Always Know What I Like

Yesterday I had a girls day with three of my favorite college friends. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing but i love being spontaneous and people who are down for whatever. We walked the streets of Madison in the snow, which wasn't bad just as i expected, and trucked our way down to the local nail salon. I must say my friends are troopers because anyone else would have been fussing about not wanting to walk in snow. On the other hand we are all from NY and these Jersey people are so used to driving that walking is not an option.. idk but anyway.. it wasn't a bad walk at all. So, I got a mani and pedi in this beautiful lilac color by Essie which i felt complimented my skin so perfectly.

While i was at the salon all of the women that were getting their nails done seemed to know each other and i swear it felt like an episode of the real housewives of NJ [without the ghetto Italian chicks which happens to be like the whole cast]. As I dried, each woman that sat next to me struck up a conversation and they were actually good ones. I love to see high class older white women mingle with a young mixed college student. It makes me feel like at least somewhere in the world race, age, and social status is not a factor. 

After our nails dried we headed to the mall. We took the bus since none of us new york girls know how to drive and it was an adventure trying to find the correct bus stop. Since no one plowed the bus stop we came up with strategies on how to get on the bus beyond the waist height pile of snow.. we eventually figured it out lol. We went to the worst mall in northern NJ [Livingston Mall] **SB: I really hate that mall because the stores inside are so crappy! The only one truly worth my time is H&M and thank God they revamped it because it wasn't shit before.** Well i did a mini haul spending $77 for 8 items! Below you can see exactly what i brought.


Overall it was a great day. We took a cab back to campus and later on that night we went out to the movies to see The Rite.. look out for a post on my review of the movie.

So, I never really knew about this girl but I saw her one day on another blogger's page [IamKhatu] and i fell in love with her style. It has been brought to my attention by my fellow blogger friend [MalianRu] that Olivia was featured on the reality show The City. Now it all makes sense, only a NY fashionista could look so fabulous :-)




Her style incubuses everything I aspire to look like. She is well put together, classy, chic, and overall she is a minimalist. I’ve never been one to like flashy fashion or wild and crazy prints. I see myself leading more towards muted tones, the blacks, the nudes, the grays.. But maybe that’s because its winter. Idk

I have search far and wide [well not really but that sounds good lol] for the perfect statement necklace and to my disappointment, I have not been successful at all. I guess its due in part to my laziness because I’m sure that New York of all places will have many shops that hold beautiful pieces. Over the winter break my energy was low and work ethic on high so majority of my time was spent in the work place [which I’m not mad about at all $$$]. I have noticed a trend in my behavior and i am leaning more towards on line shopping. I have checked forever 21[on-line and in soho], H&M [soho], ZARA [soho], Charlotte Russe [on-line], J crew [on-line].. yea i think that’s it. So, I really need some beautiful pieces! Yesterday was the first day of classes at my university. I have yet to register but i live on campus so i spent the day inside. Its not like i didn't have a lot to do. I mean i did my laundry, cleaned my bathroom, and got my room in order which i am very happy about. I didn't expect today to be any different except i don't really have anything to take care of around the house. I don't want to feel lazy and i don't like to just sit around all day unless i have worked hard all week. So, now its snowing which makes me want to stay away from outside as much as possible and that's not helping my situation at all. Sidebar: I think I'm going to watch Sex In The City 2 today.. How random. But yea, I'm bored but I'm not complaining. You might just see another post from me later on today.

I don't know how to categorize this blog. I guess its safe to say its in the miscellaneous category. I'm not even really sure why I decided to start this, let me just thank Ruwaida of Malianru in advance.
